Designed and made in New Zealand

For Rinnai's latest range of premium gas fires, the Linear Collection, Rinnai’s designers took their inspiration from Aotearoa’s unique landscapes. They hand selected driftwood washed up on our wild West Coast beaches, and stones to match those shaped by our rivers and tides. These were painstakingly recreated as perfectly lifelike ceramics.

Rinnai’s engineers then reinvented gas fire technology so flames burn more realistically and embers glow more brightly. Finally, they captured the flames in frameless panoramic enclosures, leaving next to nothing between you and the flickering warmth. The end result is the all-new Linear gas fire collection from Rinnai.

At one and a half metres wide, this is a truly impressive-looking fire. Add to that it’s availablity in either single or double-sided variants and you have a fire that’s a shining example of the wow factor. This is not just a means of heating your home, it’s an architectural statement.

Product Details

Suitable for indoor installations only.

Ideal for living rooms and open plan areas. The versatile power flue system makes for easy installation in almost any living space, including bedrooms.

Heating areas
• Upper North Island, up to 135 m²
• Central and Lower North Island, up to 94 m²
• South Island, up to 79 m²

IMPORTANT: Gasfitters and builders
Linear models have adjustable wallboard support rails. The gasfitter will adjust these based on the thickness of the wall lining. It's important the gasfitter gets the wall lining information from the builder. If this is not done the wall lining will not sit flush (if a flush installation) and the cavity can overheat causing the fire to cut out.

BUILDERS: Due to the heat from the fire ensure a 50 mm clearance around the unit, including the rear (if a single-sided model). This information is included in the framing dimension pages of the installation guide. Use this in conjunction with the 'Linear additional wall lining detail' to ensure a successful installation.

FAQs

All of the Rinnai gas fires have been tested and approved to the dimensions shown in the installation manual, therefore we can guarantee no problems with those dimensions.

Remember that bends do restrict the airflow, you must reduce the overall length by 1m for every 90° bend or 0.5m for a 45° bend.

This is not uncommon with NZ ULPG because you can get a high build up of Butane in your gas cylinder which requires larger amounts of oxygen to complete combustion. Although the appliance is designed to accept 100% butane for a few hours it is not designed to run on Butane continuously.

The way that Rinnai achieves the most realistic flame picture is by combining tall yellow flames with some flame impingement on the logs to give a red glow. This is why the setting up of the logs and loose granules in the correct intended position is critical for best performance. Take special care to follow the Rinnai Installation Guide and the easy check colour picture that we attach to the glass of every unit. Also take the time to look at the YouTube video clips on the Rinnai website giving guidelines for each model and gas type.

The newer versions of the Neo, Novo, Ember, Evolve and Linear range all have the capability of connecting to a Wi-Fi and by downloading the Rinnai Fireplace APP can be operated by a smart device. Some of the Rinnai Fireplace range come supplied with the Wi-Fi module pre-installed by our factory and some you require a Rinnai Wi-Fi module to be purchased separately and fitted, either at the time of installation or later.

Instructions are included, however at least pass on all the instruction manuals to the homeowner and they can work it out themselves or go on the Rinnai website for help.

Error code 11 indicates that the flame sensing device has not registered that a flame is present on the burner. This can be caused by the gas not having been connected or turned on or that there is excessive air in the pipe that needs to be purged through the pilot injector. The pilot injector especially on LPG appliances is very small and can take many attempts, be patient and go through the ignition cycle at least 10 to 15 times before you think there is a problem.

Error code 12 indicates either that a flame has been present but has gone out or that in most of our appliances that have two flame sensing rods that the first one has sensed but the second one hasn’t.

Has the correct model and gas type been supplied for the type of gas at the installation site? The carton and the appliance are clearly labelled showing which model and gas type is included so check before opening.

Is the appliance suitable for the room size that it is being installed into? All Rinnai gas fireplaces are not just beautiful to look at but are also efficient room heaters. Check the product specification literature for recommended maximum rooms that the fireplace will heat and also consider that the turn down rate is not too high to overheat the room once it is warm.

Before starting, check that the way the flue is to be run complies within the maximum allowable for that appliance taking into account bends.

This can in some cases be confusing however the installation guide for each appliance explains this in detail of where you can use combustible material and where you must use non combustible materials. Most models are slightly different so check the installation instructions, plus there is further data and drawings on the Rinnai website. If in doubt give us a call.
